austin edwards - president
Brother Austin Edwards brings over nine years of distinguished law enforcement experience to his role as President of Alamogordo FOP Lodge #30. Currently serving as a detective with the Alamogordo Police Department, Austin has built a diverse and accomplished career, previously serving as a Patrol Officer, K-9 Officer, and Field Training Officer.
He is an Investigator with the 12th Judicial District Major Crimes Unit and also serves as an adjunct instructor for the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy. Austin is recognized as the department’s lead digital forensics examiner, further demonstrating his expertise in high-tech investigative support.
Academically, Austin holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Police Administration & Operations, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology—both from Southern New Hampshire University.
Prior to his election as President, Austin served as the Acting President of the Alamogordo Public Safety Officers Association, where he played a key leadership role in overseeing the organizational restructuring and separation of the police and fire bargaining units and continues to lead the labor council as the Acting Chairman of the Board. He also brings a wealth of leadership experience from positions held before entering law enforcement, contributing to a well-rounded and strategic leadership approach.
As President, Austin is committed to transparent governance, strong advocacy for officer welfare, and deep community engagement.
Obed Marte - Vice President
Brother Obed Marte brings over 15 years of diverse law enforcement experience to his role as Vice President of Alamogordo FOP Lodge #30. A recent addition to the Alamogordo Police Department’s Traffic Division, Brother Obed has previously served with the Alamogordo Department of Public Safety, Otero County Sheriff’s Office, Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, and the Louisiana State Patrol.
Brother Obed is a certified general instructor, tactics instructor, and field training officer, with specialized expertise as a crash reconstructionist. His background reflects a rare combination of operational excellence and instructional leadership—whether managing critical incidents in the field or training the next generation of officers.
As Vice President, Brother Obed plays a critical role in supporting the President, managing committee representation, and serving as an authorized signer for the Lodge. He also steps in to perform presidential duties when needed and serves as a delegate to state and national FOP conferences. His broad experience and instructional acumen make him a dynamic force in Lodge leadership.

Brother Richard Rincon manages the Lodge’s records, correspondence, and historical documentation. He is responsible for accurate meeting minutes, the safeguarding of official documents, and the integrity of Lodge communication.
Brother Richard also plays a key role in financial oversight as an authorized signer and records all dues and financial transactions.

As the Lodge’s financial custodian, Brother AJ Aranda ensures fiscal transparency and responsibility. He manages all funds, prepares budgets, issues payments, and maintains detailed records of receipts and disbursements.
Brother AJ chairs the Budget Committee and ensures that Lodge operations are aligned with sound financial practices.

Brother Justin Gillespie ensures order, security, and decorum during Lodge meetings. He verifies member standing, controls access to meetings, and ensures accurate attendance.
As Sergeant at Arms, Brother Justin plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and professionalism of our internal proceedings.

Brother Wyatt Skelton serves as the vital link between Lodge #30 and the New Mexico State FOP Lodge. As State Trustee, he communicates directives from the State Lodge, advocates for local member interests, and ensures alignment between our Lodge and state-level initiatives. Brother Wyatt is our voice at the state level and a key facilitator of inter-lodge collaboration.
